Terms of Use
What this website is, what it is not, and where each side's responsibility begins and ends — set out plainly rather than buried.
01 Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Synchubmatrix website and the client portal (together, the “Site”). By using the Site you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted them.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Site.
Separate terms apply if you become a client. Those are set out in an engagement letter agreed with you before any advisory work begins, and they take precedence over these Terms where the two differ.
02 What we do — and what this site is
Synchubmatrix is an independent advisory firm. We provide financial planning, wealth management, investment strategy and general advisory services to individuals, families and businesses who engage us to do so.
- This website is informational. It describes the services we offer and publishes general articles.
- Nothing on this Site is personal advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any investment.
- Personal advice is given only after we understand your circumstances, under a signed engagement, and always in writing.
- We do not hold client money on this Site, and no transaction can be completed through it.
Where a service requires authorisation, registration or licensing in your jurisdiction, we will confirm our status and the scope of what we can advise on before you engage us.
03 No personal advice
The content of this Site is general in nature. It does not take account of your objectives, your financial position or your needs, and it may not be appropriate for you.
You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything published here without obtaining advice specific to your circumstances. If you are unsure whether something applies to you, ask us — that is what the first conversation is for, and it is free.
04 Investment risk
The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invested. Income from investments is not guaranteed and can vary.
Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Any figures, examples or illustrations shown on this Site are for information only and are not a forecast or a promise of a particular outcome.
Currency movements, inflation, tax treatment and changes in legislation can all affect the value of an investment and the benefit of any strategy. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change in future.
05 Becoming a client
Contacting us — including through the form on this Site — does not create a client relationship and does not oblige either side to proceed.
A relationship begins only when we have agreed the scope of work with you, confirmed our fees in writing and both parties have signed an engagement letter. Before that point you should not send us confidential information you would not want held outside a formal relationship.
We may decline to act where we do not believe we can add value, where a conflict cannot be managed, or where we are unable to complete the checks required of us.
06 Fees and conflicts of interest
All fees are agreed with you in advance and confirmed in writing before work starts. Depending on the engagement, that may be a fixed fee for a defined piece of work or an ongoing fee for continuing advice and review. If the scope changes, the fee is re-agreed before the additional work is done.
Where any payment we may receive is connected to a recommendation, we disclose it to you in writing — what it is, how much it is and who pays it — before you make a decision.
Fees quoted on this Site, if any, are indicative and do not constitute an offer.
07 The client portal
Access to the client portal is provided to clients for viewing documents, reviewing their position and exchanging information with their adviser securely.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity carried out under your login. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has gained access.
We will never ask you for your password or a one-time code, and we will never ask you by email to send money to a new account. If you receive such a request, do not act on it — call your adviser on the number you already hold for us.
08 Acceptable use
You may use this Site for your own personal or business information purposes. You may not:
- copy, republish or resell any part of it without our written permission;
- scrape, mirror or systematically extract its content;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems;
- use it in any way that is unlawful, or that could damage or impair it for others.
We may suspend access where use of the Site breaches these Terms.
09 Intellectual property
All content on this Site — text, graphics, illustrations, layout, code, the Synchubmatrix name and logo — belongs to Synchubmatrix or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.
You may view and print pages for your own use. Any other use requires our written permission.
10 Availability and third-party links
We aim to keep the Site available and its content accurate and current, but we do not guarantee either. Content may be updated or removed without notice, and access may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
Where we link to third-party sites, we do so for convenience. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement.
11 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss arising from reliance on the general content of this Site, and for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of it.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Liability in respect of advisory work carried out for you as a client is dealt with in your engagement letter, not here.
12 Privacy and communications
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Email is not a secure medium. Please do not send account numbers, identification documents or other sensitive material by ordinary email — use the client portal, or ask us for a secure alternative.
We may record or take notes of meetings and calls to keep an accurate record of the advice given. You are entitled to ask for a copy.
13 Disclosures and complaints
We will confirm in writing, before you engage us, our regulatory status, the services we are able to provide, how we are paid, and how any conflict of interest is managed.
If something goes wrong, tell your adviser first — most issues are resolved quickly once someone knows about them. If you would rather not, or you are not satisfied with the response, write to us at support@synchubmatrix.com and your complaint will be handled independently of the person involved.
We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it properly, and tell you the outcome together with your options if you remain unhappy.
14 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services or in applicable law. The revised version takes effect when published on this page, and the “last updated” date above will change.
Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15 Contacting us
Questions about these Terms, or about anything published on this Site, can be sent to support@synchubmatrix.com. We are available Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00, and most enquiries are answered within one business day.
Risk disclosure
The content of this website is general and does not take account of your circumstances. The value of investments can fall as well as rise and you may get back less than you invested. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, and tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change in future.
Questions About Any of This?
Ask us. We would rather explain a term now than have you agree to something you were not sure about.
